Mad Hats & Teapots
Ulrieke Benner, Salt Spring Island textile artist, is looking forward to showing her work on Vancouver Island again. The playful theme of this show will allow her to showcase one of her favourite items to create: hats! Adding some wearable art to the mix, Ulrieke will bring a bundle of chapeaus that are imaginative, spontaneous, and daring that will be sure to please hat lovers of all stripes. Using both felt and straw, hats for all seasons and occasions will be showcased, and she’ll even bring a few of her shawls to round out the collection.
Mad Hats & Teapots is the second exhibit in a series of four centered around equinox, solstice, equinox and solstice. June 21st marks the opening of this coming exhibit at my studio and gallery.

Basket Weaving Demo
I feel so fortunate to have Coco and Joan’s work here at the gallery for an entire month. The colourful strokes of Coco’s paintings mesh beautifully with Joan’s and intricate textures.
Joan Carrigan will be coming to the gallery to do a basket weaving demo this coming Sunday. Come and see Joan’s beautiful work and say hi to her. Sunday April 8th, noon – 5pm.
The Fertility Exhibit is up until April 22nd.
Our regular open hours are Wednesday – Sunday 10-5pm.

The city of Shibam, Yemen, is home to the oldest skyscrapers in the world.
These buildings date back to the 16th century. They are built of mud bricks and have been able to survive hundreds of year of weather in the middle of the desert.
I am not sure why I am so attracted to cityscapes. I grew up on a farm and I now live in the country. Yet cityscapes continue to inspire and amaze me. And especially these clay-cloured wabi-sabi beauties….

We are excited about starting a new season at the farm and gallery. It is time for us to open our doors again.
And for the second time we are doing it in style with a huge SECONDS sale of my clay work.
The gate will swing open at 2pm on the 2nd of the 2nd month. That’s a no-brainer!
There is lots to look at and lots of great deals. Some pieces are marked down as much as 80%.

Win a Teapot
Tis’ that time of year again that I give away one of my teapots in honour of International Tea Day December 15th. International Tea Day was initiated in India to raise awareness of the conditions of tea workers across the globe. Have an artisan cup of tea, like my facebook page and you can win a one-of-a-kind handbuilt teapot. Or, simply share your own personal tea story. I love tea and I love stories.
The actual design and colour of the teapot will be a surprise but I guarantee it will be one of my original teapots.
